What a special day this wedding day was! Ashley & Matt’s wedding day was actually my very last day in Starkville, forever (queue the tears!). As bittersweet as this day was, it was so wonderful to be able to spend it doing the thing that makes me the happiest, celebrating two people in love! If you know Ashley & Matt, they are just that – very much in love.
Neither of these two grew up in Mississippi but you would have no ideas because of how die hard MSU their wedding day was! As a Mississippi State Alumni (more tears!), it was so much fun to capture some of the sacred traditions that my school holds so dear. Not only were the customized cowbells as adorable as can be, but Ashley even wore the cutest maroon converse with “Hail State” monogrammed on top. Now THAT is true Bulldog spirit if you ask me!
As special as all the MSU details were, there were still so many other unique aspects of Mr. & Mrs. Janzen’s big day. One of my favorites is that Ashley’s “something old & something blue” was a portion of her mother’s wedding dress sewn onto the bottom of her dress. How sweet is that?! If I had to choose though, I think the sweetest moment of the day was when Ashley & Matt said their vows to one another. The smiles on both of their faces perfectly emulated the deep love they feel for one another, it was impossible not to grin behind my camera along with them!
Ashley & Matt, thank you SO much for choosing me to capture your wedding day. It was such an honor to walk along side you both in this exciting time in your life. I’m so glad I got to spend my last day in Starkville capturing your love of MSU & one another. I love you both, I love our school, & I’m so glad we wrapped it in Maroon & White together!
