Aren’t we all a sucker for a good love story? If you answered “Of course!” , you’re in the right place! One of my favorite parts of being a wedding photographer is watching couples light up with glee and excitement from the newness from finding the person they will spend the rest of their lives with! It’s an emotion like no other! How they met. How he proposed. I love all of it! I’ll never forget that time in my life while I was dating the guy that I knew I would marry. My couples always end up asking me “What about you & Hunter?” So I decided to share with you the story of us!
Here’s our story of how we went from a church camp fling to wedding rings!

PART 8: MAY 15, 2016

The day that I had envisioned for years was finally here. It was our wedding day, I was finally about to become Mrs. Alexander. May 15, 2016 was by far the happiest day of my life. Excited was an understatement of how I was feeling. There wasn’t a nervous bone in my body, just a calming peace that I was ready to be with my very best friend.
My very favorite moment from our wedding was our first look. I was SO ready to see my guy. On the top balcony of our Albany Plantation venue, I walked toward the man I was about to marry. He turned around me embraced in a hug. We exchanged gifts, read from the engraved bible I got for him, prayed together and we also read letters to one another. Hunter is not an emotional guy but when he was reading his letter to me it was one of the only times I saw him get choked up. This of course made me emotional and made the moment even sweeter. I would not have traded that those 30 minutes together for anything. The memory of our first look is by far my biggest treasure from our wedding.
The single most important thing to me other than marrying my best friend of course, is that I wanted to get married underneath a Louisiana Oak Tree. That afternoon that is exactly what we did in front of all of our family and friends. We read each other vows, I promised to always take of the laundry and he promised to wash the dishes. I also promised him that I would always choose him. The best sides of him and the worst, they were both mine. He promised to always cherish, respect, encourage and love me. We said “I do.”, shared a sweet kiss, and then we were finally husband and wife!
Our reception was filled with Cajun food, good music, lawn games, and wedding cake snowballs. We danced underneath bistro lights and celebrated the beginning of our marriage together with all of the people we love. It was perfect in every sense of the word.
Our wedding day was exactly what we wanted it to be and I think that’s what made it so perfect. It felt just like us. I’ll never forget the happiness that I felt then, but honestly being married to Hunter Alexander has been just as happy of an experience as May 15, 2016!
