Aren’t we all a sucker for a good love story? If you answered “Of course!” , you’re in the right place! One of my favorite parts of being a wedding photographer is watching couples light up with glee and excitement from the newness from finding the person they will spend the rest of their lives with! It’s an emotion like no other! How they met. How he proposed. I love all of it! I’ll never forget that time in my life while I was dating the guy that I knew I would marry. My couples always end up asking me “What about you & Hunter?” So I decided to share with you the story of us!
Here’s our story of how we went from a church camp fling to wedding rings!

PART 8: MAY 15, 2016

By the time I was 16, I knew that I wanted to spend my life with Hunter Alexander. In my sophomore year of high school, I got very sick for a few months and Hunter stood by me through at all. We were just a couple of kids but I knew even then, that he would be a great husband someday.
Whenever we had hypothetical conversations about when we would get married, get engaged, etc. , Hunter asked me if there was anything specific that I envisioned for his proposal. I said no not at all, only that I wanted some pretty setting. In my head, I thought this meant sunrise on his fishing boat in the Louisiana marsh! Hunter had something else planned for me!
One Christmas break, Hunter & I were visiting Asheville, NC with his family in the beautiful mountains. I remember one late evening near the fireplace, he and I had one of our hypothetical conversations that gave me butterflies. That night we decided after a few semesters of college, that would be the best time for an engagement and then a marriage for us. Little did I know, Hunter had a ring his grandmother had given him this whole entire time! He even asked my father for his blessing before he left on this trip! I had NO idea! I wasn’t expecting an engagement for literally over a year later!
The next day he, his family, and my unsuspecting self went on a gorgeous hike to DuPont State Forest in North Carolina. The waterfalls glistened among the huge rocks in the enchanting forest. It’s still one of the prettiest places I had ever seen. I was trying to take a picture on my phone (this was before I was a photographer!), when I heard Hunter utter my name. I turned around and there he was gazing up at me. In absolute shock, I said ,”REALLY?!” , then I knelt down and kissed him.
From then on, our conversations were no longer hypothetical. We might have been young, but we knew we were meant to be.
